I watched the ghibli movie first before reading the book. I don't know how many times I've watched it (it's freaking cute and cosy). When diving into the book, I didn't expect it to be so different from the movie. There was only 30-40% similarity between the two. But I love Diana's portrayal of Sophie. She is a witch and have special powers of her own. I loved the banter between her and Howl. But the romance between them felt rushed. Would have loved to see them growing to like each other rathern than fighting like sibling one day and falling in love the next day. Overall, it was a whimsy read. Gonna be watching the movie soon.🩷

I ADORED this. I had already fallen in love with the Studio Ghibli interpretation of the story before I read the original, but the original story has its own pinch of magic. This was delightful to read, and I enjoyed the story and all the characters the entire time. Calcifer is fantastic

Such a fun read! Jones has a great sense of humor in her storytelling the characters themselves are all so full of personality. It's an entertaining read for every member of the family and people of all ages. It's a story full of magic, mystery, and wit. I never get tired of Howl and Sophie's adventures.
