I really wish this book wasn’t YA because I really do love the story but everything happens so fast and it really doesn’t have time to show Sophie’s real feelings. She really just came off as bitter for a while.

Review (8.6.20) One word to describe this: odd.
I haven't seen the anime adaption, so I went into this story completely blind. It really has children book vibes except the bit at the end. I feel there are still several loose ends, I think, but maybe I just didn't read carefully enough.

Update (13.6.20) The movie is quite different from the original book. I think I prefer the book to the movie. While the basic idea was the same the made a lot of changes in the movie.

From their very first meeting, Howl and Sophie are written like an old couple who should’ve gotten divorced years ago but for whatever reason refuse to. But oh right, if a man and a woman have nothing in common and yell at each other constantly, that’s just love innit?
