I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 of the Huggabie Falls Trilogy. I did not read the first book before reading this one, however my reading was in no way affected. In book 2, the three friends, Tobias, Kipp and Cymphany are still trying to rescue their town. Scary things are happening again in their town and it's up to them to find out who is scaring the town's residents before everyone runs away.

When I began this book I was not sure of what to expect. These kinds of books can go either way for me. They could be boring and annoying or funny and interesting. This fell in the second category. For one, it was the perfect length for me. The writing was funny and and quirky in a good way. I just wish the author didn't make so many appearances in the book. It felt at times like he was a character in the book. That is how present he was.

All in all this was a very enjoyable book to read. As I write this, I've already read it twice and I may start it again once my long pending book list is finished.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I would recommend this book for young fans of Lemony Snicket. The characters have some quirks, the storyline is comical and keeps the reader guessing. From an adult perspective, i found the rambling of the author distracting and I lost interest many times. I know it was intended as comedic, but as an adult I was not into it. This story might be good for young independent readers, or family reading a little bit at a time.

Deel 1 was het grappigste boek dat ik ooit heb gelezen. Totdat ik dit las. Ik ga geen spoilers geven dus ik hou het kort: Deze reeks is geniaal, briljant, geweldig! Zo hilarisch!

My son read this book during the Halloween season and said it was funny, not scary. He liked it but didn't love it. He said he would give the author another chance though.
