A good, quick, and fun read. Doesn't end on a cliffhanger but you know there's more to come and the writing's good enough that you want to know more, you want to know how the characters will develop in themselves and their relationships with each other.

Can’t wait for Part II!

Admittedly fantasy isn’t my most-read genre (trying to change that, especially after reading this), but whatever your genre of choice usually is doesn’t matter because this had a little sumpin’ sumpin’ for everyone. The only thing I wanted to see as I read was a little more detail of the backstory for our main badass (we only get a few choice tidbits here and there, and she’s a little too busy saving an entire company and super VIP client to dwell), but it seems like I won’t be on the edge of my seat for too long— Part II out in a couple weeks! In short, I was immediately sucked into the story and if it hadn’t been for those meddling things like work and eating, I’d have finished it in day.

I don’t mind a good slow burn and I like not having the harem introduced right away. We have a nice collection and now it’s a little mystery to see who makes the cut. Could use some more editing and I really disliked the use of the word “baddie” so much. It was very overused. Otherwise, nice read and pretty decent story so far.

Great MC, awesome story

Dr. Laila Porter Is awesome! She’s smart, tough and spunky and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I love the undercurrent of attraction between her Davies, Elliot, Venni and Lombardi!

DID NOT FINISH: 50%

I truly read the first 50 or so percent but I got bored and tired of reading so many mistakes. Forgotten words, things in the wrong tense, just seriously needed another pass through an editor. The idea of the plot is cool but the way it’s written is just boring. I’m over 50% in and there’s still zero romance.

Second time reading this series and I’ve got to admit it’s right up there. The world is well developed and I love the lead, Laila. So far there’s a hint to personal relationships but it’s all about the plot and her job at the magical security company. A definite read. 4.5

Quick Take: Interesting world-building and magic systems don't make up for the two-dimensional characters and flat relationships in this urban fantasy reverse harem romance.
