Racism is the only thing I disliked about this. Other than that this book was awesome. Final battle was amazing and someone was chopping onions during the last chapter.

RE-READ.

At least my 4th re-read. I always like this one more than I remember, but I hate how it’s broken up. I wish it alternated chapters - I think it would be easier to get though. Frodo and Sam’s parts are just so dark.

A funny observation for me - I ALWAYS forget that Shelob is in this book. I always think she’s at the end of ROTK. And every time I re-read or rewatch LOTR, I am forced to reckon with the fact that I have no idea what happens in ROTK. And I have seen and read it several times.

A classic

Loved getting the opportunity to finally read this all the way through. I had began it many times but never finished it until now. Fabulous story, unforgettable characters. Sam is by far my favorite! ❤️
