This is a "cannot put down" book, because you just want to know how Felix Pink, the main character ends up.

Felix is a pensioner who belongs to a group called the Exiteers. When he lets himself in to Number 3 Black Lane, he’s there to perform an act of charity: to keep a dying man company as he takes his final breath. But things to not go to plan and just go from bad to worse. Two main characters - Felix and Calvin the policeman, plus a few cats and dogs along the way.

Similar vibe to A man called Ove. Not as good as Belinda's previous book 'Snap' in my opinion.

A revelation! Bauer takes the daunting theme of assisted dying and turns it into an entertaining, funny(yes, FUNNY) page turner of a book. She writes wonderfully and populates the book with characters and dialogue that completely engage the reader. The book contains many ‘stop you in your tracks’ lines - you stop reading and laugh or smile or are just amazed at what is on the page.
This is the first time I have read one of her books and it is great to know that the remainder await.

Exit is superb; a perfect blend of clever twisty thriller and offbeat humour. Belinda Bauer has delivered a book which is in equal parts full of warmth, smartly observed whimsy, tight plot and gasps as the story unfolds. The characters are a a highlight and Felix, Skipper, Mabel and Toff will stay with me for quite some time.

Exit is more akin to A Man Called Ove than work such as Snap and Blacklands and I would thoroughly recommend it.

With many thanks to Random House (Transworld) and Netgalley for an advanced copy in consideration of an honest review.

A very different approach to a murder mystery - it was a nice change to the usual thriller storyline. Good story, loveable characters but I wouldn’t say I was completely enthralled. Still a good plot with good writing

A charming cosy murder mystery with a twist - the whodunnit may have been a little disappointing in the end but the warm and loveable Felix Pink easily makes up for this!

I really enjoyed how the author manages to reflect on some very difficult and emotive topics like assisted suicide and terminal illness yet also create loveable and humourous characters with plenty of laughs along the way. Exit does what The Thursday Murder Club tried (and imo failed) to deliver: creating a charming cosy crime mystery with a vibrant cast of older characters and it was so much fun to see Felix and his neighbour embracing adventure and new experiences in later life. An unusually wholesome read for such a heavy concept!

A fun, light hearted novel that you can easily read in a couple of sittings, with a few surprises along the way.
