O’Roark has done it again. The true definition of slow burn, so worth the wait! I find myself wanting hard copies of these so I can read them again and again which is probably the highest compliment I can give.

I liked this book a lot more than the first, I just liked the trope and how much Josh truly cares about Drew. My favorite part of the book might be the camping part where they go on that long ass hike and get stuck because of the rain.

*NEW REVIEW* - the transition between how they acted during their trip to Hawaii to them starting to hook up felt a little weird to me like they never had any hint at a conversation about liking each other. Like obviously it clear to everyone but still it felt a little rushed almost maybe I don’t know? Also when Drew goes to see Josh in Somalia omg that was kinda awkward and I felt so bad. I did feel like the ending left out a lot of little details I wonder how things were when Josh had to go back to Somalia? How did Six originally react to the news of drew dating his brother? What does life look like going forward for Drew now is she going to be touring and doing all that stuff still? I’m pretty sure they mentioned her working on her third album and doing some press to recover from her managers rampage. Josh’s moms cancer diagnosis made kind of no sense to me because he so badly didn’t want to upset her and they entire time they were acting like she had months to live or even shorter when really he told Drew she’d have like three years? I mean I’m happy she had more time but it felt weird to me idk like it was a major pressure on his shoulders but three years is a long time and it feels like anything could happen in those three years and she could get better or something?

The banter, the spice, the tension. This book pulled at my heartstrings. I love when books have some serious real life issues and these happen to be some I relate to. I also wanted something with a beach setting and this hit the spot with the first half set in Hawaii. I loved this book so much!
emotional funny lighthearted

This was cute and fluffy with a little bit of depth for both characters.  I don't normally go for the ex's brother trope, but I thought it was pretty well done in this one.
plus it's in Hawaii so I got to pretend like I was on a tropical vacation too.

Ok what is with the disconnect between the titles/covers of these books and the actual stories? Cute shit™️
