Man this had me swooning. Josh has to be a top book boyfriend now. When he’s a genuinely good guy and a hot doctor who works in a Somali refugee camp and you go on a Hawaiian vacation and fall in love?! Sign me right on up. It was so sweet this series is such an innocent little fluffy rom com movie and it was the palate cleanser I needed. Can’t wait for the next
Why did I wait so long to read this? Every single page tugged at my heartstrings. I loved the tension, but I loved how the characters grew together and took chances on each other. I loved the banter too, they’re both so fucking funny.
3.5-4 stars.

(Dual POVs)
The angst was strong with this one!!! On the outside, these two couldn’t be more opposite, but the more they are forced to spend time together, the more they get to know one another under the surface, and they actually start to get along! The plot of this one was kind of different, with both characters attending the family vacation with other people, not necessarily by choice. I will say in case anyone is worried, there is no cheating.
I was slowly falling for Josh throughout the book. It’s the small things like remembering she gets car sick, so he doesn’t allow anyone to sit upfront except for her. Or the concern and care he shows when they’re hiking. Or the way he remembers small details like her favorite things. As soon as the two little words were texted, “I’m outside”, I was an absolute goner. It definitely sealed the deal for me on Josh!
After being introduced to Drew in the previous book in the series, I was a bit nervous after seeing the way that she let Six treat her. I appreciated the knowledge we learned in this book about her background and upbringing because it helped make sense of certain things about her. I do have to say, at times I was honestly more mad at the way she let her manager treat her than I was at the way she let Six treat her.
I loved the growth I saw in both of these characters. Towards the beginning, they both had something to prove, whether it be to themselves or others. It was beautiful by the end, to see them both come to the realization of what really matters and reprioritize their lives!
The humor the characters used was… unique. I’m learning that this author has a certain style of humor and it may not be for everyone. Another thing that some people may be uncomfortable with is that there is mention of one of the main characters being given drugs to help keep them alert during their busy lifestyle. This was probably the only thing I was a bit hesitant about, was the nonchalant use of drugs, but it didn’t have an effect on how I felt about the book as a whole. I absolutely adored this book and I am so looking forward to reading the next one and finishing the series!
Favorite Quotes:
“Is he your boyfriend?” one of them asks, sweeping her appreciative gaze over him.
“Him? No. Satan isn’t allowed to take companion on the Earth’s surface, as far as I know.”
Memories are like artwork left in the rain. They blur and smudge until all that’s left is your weak interpretation of it, your best guess as to what it was. -Drew
“it’s easier to hate something than admit you’re just pissed off you’ll never have it.” -Josh
