i can’t believe this book is so highly rated with the disgusting casual racism and paedophilic jokes.
just so you know somalian isn’t a word.

I was not prepared to love this book as much as I did. Drew is a pop star and gets roped into going on a family vacation with her sometimes boyfriend. Joshua is a doctor in Somalia and seemingly hates drew. When Josh's brother and Drew's basically ex-boyfriend doesn't show up, she's stuck in Hawaii.
There's a lot of tension between Drew and Josh. She swears he hates her for no real reason other than she exists. As they begin to hang around each other and spend actual time together, they both realize they wish there could be something more.
I was not expecting to cry and I cried. TWICE. I had so many things to do today and I did none of them because I couldn't put this down. I loved every minute of it.

Removed stars for: dual POV I would have liked just the FMCs better, insta-lust, r miscommunication troupe, FMC is dumb sometimes
Kept stars for: overprotective MMC, cute idea to fall for the ex’s brother like a forbidden love
Overall very cute book, but everyone here needs to grow up. They’re so immature..

I thought the entire first half of the book was very repetitive. Same arguments, conversations, and events. I enjoyed the last half of the book!
Oh, my. This one was great, especially the first three quarters. The character development of both MCs was fantastic, and the interactions set in Hawaii were absolutely out of this world.
Even better that the first book! (A Deal with the Devil)
So we meet our heroine, Drew, in book 1 and honestly I didn't like her very much. I didn't want to read her book, but I was so stunned by this author's writing that I had to. Drew has been surrounded by people her whole life telling her she's not enough and then using that insecurity to control her. She is a fragile but stubborn force.
And then we have Joshua, the brother of the guy she's supposed to kind of be dating, but she's not and he ditches her on a vacation with HIS OWN FAMILY. Six is a douche.
Anyways, Drew and Joshua have CHEMISTRY! No plot spoilers, just read it, this book is AMAZING!!!!
