I read this series almost 2 years ago and it lives rent free in my mind. Drew, the FMC, went on vacation with her ex-boyfriend and his family, giving their relationship one last shot. When she gets to Hawaii, her ex wasn't even there because he was in jail. She is then forced to hang out with his parents and his grumpy brother, Josh. He has not liked her from the beginning but things quickly change and they both realize there is more to the other.

Elizabeth has a way of writing a story so well that you cannot put it down. The banter between the characters is always top tier. I highly recommend the entire series!

I’d probs rate this book higher but idk the Somalia portion of this feels problematic??

4.5 ⭐️ I enjoyed this so much!

It’s honestly insane that I read the other three books in this series and skipped this one because I thought I wouldn’t like it only to come back months later and have it be my favorite book of the series. Josh was so so perfect and the absolute embodiment of soft love and small everyday gestures meaning so much more. And Drew? My poor baby god I just want to hug her she deserved so much better from life and i’m so happy her and Josh ended up together :,)

This was a fun read! I didn’t adore it quite as much as A Deal with the Devil, but the characters were easy to root for and the romance was lovely. Drew and Josh feel well-suited, and I like how they became friends first, before taking the next step.

I think the main thing that’s making me hesitate to give it 5 stars was the pacing. This book was divided into two halves, and while I really enjoyed the vacation section, the second part felt a bit slow.

I was a bit thrown off by the two-POV style of this book (since the first was just Tali’s), but I ended up really appreciating being able to see the romance from both characters’ eyes. I’m not sure how I feel about some of the minor characters though, especially Sloane. I wanted to like her, but it was just so difficult to get a read on her. It felt like there was a lot of Drew telling us what Sloane was like (uptight, organized?) but we were never shown. I was mostly just confused what her personality was supposed to be, and then she was poof! She was gone.

Anyway: This book came with lots of ups and downs, but ultimately, it was easy to read and had a lot of sweet moments. I’m looking forward to Ben’s book!

SO cute! I loved them bonding in Maui, and they were so fun. I hated Six and how she just let people walk over her, and the dad was kind of a caricature and didn't feel super fleshed out, which I thought was disappointing. Also, who the fuck doesn't
