Such a beautiful debut from this author. It felt like a soothing hug after a tough day; it felt like a homecoming full of bittersweet moments and tenderness - which is exactly what it was. This is a beautiful story of grief, loss, love, anxiety, and life with all of the moments in between. The characters are well written and beautiful, full of triumphs, failures, and bittersweet memories.
The flashbacks to the past are well written and add a layer of context that truly completes the story. The mental health representation is well-written and beautifully portrayed.
Sometimes, you truly can return home.
Oh - and the spice is a beautiful thing! The truck scene was EVERYTHING I didn't even know I needed!
This is truly a book that I wish I could read for the first time again.

Firstly I couldn’t put this down!
This fully consumed my heart in two days!
It’s been a while since I book has made me this emotional! There is something between the pages of this masterpiece!
My heart! Johanna and Patrick 🫶🏻 childhood friends to lovers to strangers 😭 I was hoping the timing would final fall right for these two! The pain and the loss they’ve both had to deal with! My god! The tears just remember it all!
The mental health is so beautifully written yet so raw and as someone who’s had to overcome anxiety/depression when it’s done right in a book! It hits!
I went into the completely blind it was our bookclub pick for February and so perfectly themed.
I think Patrick and Yoyo with stay with me for a while 🫶🏻

This book is absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. I just adored it! I’m shocked this is Ronnie’s debut novel, and I’m so so glad she took the leap to publish it.
Set in Maine, this was such a warm and cozy read. Childhood friends to lovers and second chance are two of my favorite tropes and this one had both! These characters felt like old friends and I loved them so much. Jo and Patrick’s relationship was so sweet and I loved all the flashbacks of them from when they were younger. Jo’s mental health journey is also written so well and Ronnie took such care expressing the realities of depression and anxiety. I can’t recommend this one enough! Definitely check this one out!! So excited for the next book in the series!

I really enjoyed this and thought it was a great debut novel
- childhood friends to lovers
- second chance
- small town
- co-workers
I loved the small town setting, both family’s and all the side characters - it was so fun and a place that I could get lost in
I really enjoyed the build up to the characters getting back together and it was so good when it finally happened
I love their relationship and how supportive they were of each other and although it took some time to open up about things that happened in their past but they were always there for each other
Thank you to the author and netgalley for the arc - all opinions are my own

Johanna and Patrick, what an adventure has been reading about you both !!! I have absolutely loved it. From beginning to end, the whole relation was definitely a Rollercoaster, but I am so glad the pieces felt back in place. Thank you, Ronnie, for this adventure. Definitely recommended to everyone.
