Zoe Cain is trying to make her brother angry and tells Grant Evertide that if he didn't have a girlfriend that would be angry if he kissed her, she would ask him to. So he kisses her. Rumors are going around the school that Zoe is Grant's "Ringer". Its a tradition where a popular guy dates a non-popular girl until he hooks up with her and then dumps her. Grant swears he likes Zoe, and is not using her, but he did make a bet with his best friend that he could get Zoe back anytime he wants. The only problem is he doesn't want a girlfriend. Until he goes to the school dance without Zoe and realizes that he only wants to be with her. When Zoe finds out about the bet she trusts Grant and doesn't get angry because the bet was with Aidan (his best friend) and not anyone else. She knows she needs to give up her drama queen tendencies so she needs to trust him. Zoe and Grant decide that they want their best friends to be happy too, so they set out to get Delia and Aidan together.

When I realized this was a Young Adult book I didn't know what I expected, but this story was cute. I was glad to see that the vindictive girls at the school didn't win and keep the main characters apart. The book brought up the difficulties teens have dating in high school and made me not miss high school one bit.

I Loved, Loved, Loved this wonderful story! This book is such a sweet, fun and sometimes downright irritating read. Zoe and Grant are so well developed, I enjoyed watching their stories play out, despite the somewhat exasperating moments. But I suppose boy will be boys ... at least until they find the right girl to straighten them out! And here's hoping Delia and Aiden's story is told next.
I read this book in one sitting, so make sure you have a couple hours, you do not want to put it down. Chris Cannon is quickly moving to the top of my authors list. I was given a complimentary book for an honest review.

I love entangled teen romance books. They are always funny, sweet, and have a happy ending.

For this one it was just an ok read. The plot was alright but there wasn't much substance too it. Just a stubborn hotheaded girl and a boy who likes to look at other girls. They spend most of the book hating each other and then making out. I just didn't see much of a bigger picture/downfall to the plot. It was mostly just flat.

Still a good short romance just missing a lot of substance.

I’m not sure why I’m such a sucker for these books, but I am.

Not keen on the character of Grant, if it were real life I probably would've punched him multiple times but still a good read.

Fun and funny YA romance. It had a lot of really entertaining moments, especially the start with Zoe kissing Grant just to piss off her brother. I liked Zoe and her temper and drama queen moments and honestly I never felt she was over her top in her reactions to Grant cause he is kind of a jerk. What I couldn’t understand was why she kept giving him chance after chance. I was ok with him being giving a couple of chances but his flip flopping and the disrespect he shows Zoe went on for way too long. Then he is all offended that Zoe didn’t give him a chance to explain the photo of him and is ex kissing was from the previous year. However, it is actually not an overreaction on Zoe’s part given his ongoing treatment of her.

3.5 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

Well...huh... So I started this book and I was just thrilled!! I was LOVING it! I thought Zoe was so sassy and snarky, and I loved the bantering interplay between her and Grant. Honestly I was smiling and laughing all the time. I know Zoe was a bit dramatic, but honestly I just thought she had a bit of a temper and was a bit over the top. She and her BFF Delia was so much fun.

But somewhere along the way it started to lose a little bit of the sparkle. Honestly, Grant was not book boyfriend material. We got less and less of his POVs as the book went on, and quite frankly he just never seemed that enamoured with Zoe. It was like he was intrigued, but he kept weighing pros and cons about being with her, but there was no overall excitement, or just *want* to be with her. I never felt it. I enjoyed it in the beginning a bit more, but I expected things to develop, and for him to be maybe confused b/c he didn't want a girlfriend, but Zoe made him feel differently. I just didn't get that at all.

And while Zoe's reactions were a bit over the top, quite frankly I got why she was upset in so many of the instances...she just liked being dramatic in her reactions, but the base reason for being upset was valid in my opinion. And so I was not impressed with how the last bit played out where Grant accused her of not trusting him, even though he hadn't earned that trust through past experiences, and she ended up being the one to apologize and make amends. Did NOT work for me.

And then the end just wrapped up super fast, I didn't buy their relationship development at ALL, I didn't even buy that Grant wanted to be with Zoe. And quite frankly, I thought Zoe could do better. So my reading experience went from a 4 to a 3.5 rounded up to 4, to a me being generous and still giving it 3.5 but rounding down to 3. Major bummer b/c it started off SO well.
