Can’t do it. One, it’s set in high school which is already a big negative for me (I’m too old for that). And two, I will never be able to move past that he actually assaulted her. Also, I just don’t think bully romances are ever going to be for me.

Just blow me away why don’t you?!

I didn’t think it was possible to be royally effed up by a book any longer. Most everything is been there done that.

And then Sam brought Carter and Zoey into my life and I have been reborn. Into a world of surprises and twists and twisted minds.

And all I can say is thank you!! You just surprised me with one of my top 3 books of 2018!! 💙💙💙

5 / 5 stars!
This is for those readers who love true bul!y romances, because there isn't much redeemable about this MMC most of the book.... and I love an obsessed hero or rather villain who will do the unthinkable to keep a girl... so yeah it was for me. This man basically black mails her into keeping him as boyfriend AFTER he black mails her into an act that requires her on her knees if you know what I mean.  He gaslights her and I think I felt as crazy as she probably did reading the story, because for some sick reason... I couldn't put it down.  I knew he was insane, but the lengths he went for her was also endearing.  I knew he was cruel, but he was cruel for her. I was living to see what other insane things would fly out of his mouth.  One of my favorite bul!y romances honestly.

Touchdown!! Absolutely awesome!!

This book was fantastic. I was drawn in the minute I started and found it difficult to put down. It’s dark, gritty, twisted, funny and all around amazing! If I could give it more than five stars I would!!

Carter climbed up to my top 5 book boyfriends, and I don’t say that lightly. I’m in love with his possessive, obsessive, over the top, absolutely unhinged self! He’s so not for the faint of heart. He is morally black, there are no shades of gray; just pitch black. And I love him for it.

I wasn’t expecting the book to be so witty. There’s a lot of humor in Zoey and Carter’s interactions, which gave a lightness to the story, especially when Carter doesn’t understand the meaning of “no” and “stop”.

All in all, a favorite for sure! I’ll now be binging Sam Mariano’s other books.

Idk how to review this or rate it or how I feel about it. It's more than "a bully romance". It's a bunch of high school kids- high school, remember- and the main character rapes the female main character and she totally falls in love with him. 😬😬
It's not Stockholm syndrome. It's just, he's a troubled boy and she wants to be a shrink and she can figure him out? Maybe? And the whole town loves him and lets him do whatever he wants. Yeah ok.
There was a part where they had split up and she says something like "I'd rather you force me (into sex) than get it from someone else" and he's all "princess you just handed me the keys to the kingdom". WTF is that? Big giant yikes.
It's a very well written book, and the dialogue between them was actually pretty funny at times. But Zoey, look. He destroys those that wrong him. Why don't you think that wouldn't be you one day? He's a cruel boy. Ok he had trauma in his past. That does not make all of this ok.
And the ending, how the whole thing came together, not likely. He does not have that much pull in life.

What in the name of all that is holy was that.

The characters do not fit together at all.
Zoey literally makes excuses to justify him raping her multiple times, its not even like a grey area or forced consent, she explicitly says no.
She’s completely delusional, convinced she is the one to ‘change him’ and she ‘understands him’.
I don’t even know why I finished this, I think I was hoping for some form of redemption or something.
I enjoy dark romance and the usual grey areas that go along with that but this just felt so rushed and cringy.
The annoying thing it when the characters actually talked it was enjoyable to read but everything else felt so icky
