DNF, mmc pissed me off more often the not and the fmm needed to stand UP 😠Sam Mariano usually does great tackling dub-con romance and I’ve already read so many of her other books that were PERFECT (like Even If It Hurts), so I’m just going to chalk this up to one blimp on her discography.

I KNOW I was supposed to throw that book away after reading the first chapters but what can I say? I was just equally mesmerized and horrified by Carter Mahoney. When the author says "this book is provocative" - believe it, please. I keep going back to those high school bully romance stories, even though a part of me despises them, so that might explain my complete lack of foresight when it comes to the "bully" narrative.
I am not even going to go into details - what makes this book work is 100% the sick dynamic between the two main characters. He's a borderline psycho bully, and she keeps coming back for more. And somehow, SOMEHOW, the author makes it work.

This book is UNREAL!!! One of the first dark bully romances I read and I loved every minute!!!

This book just solidified for myself that I have certain boundaries I don't like to be crossed between the mc/fmc and threatening rape and forcing a blowjob are those things.
That I continued and finished this book despite those things speaks volumes.

To me the characters were unlikable. The twist within the story I DIDN’T like at all!😠I only continued to see how it ended.. I’m a dark romance reader, love dark romance! So when I saw this was recommended I just NEEDED to read. However kids shouldn’t ever have kids!ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ there’s no reason why a 14 year old should be written in as having a child! And them passing her off as his sister?! What the hell?!
