Untouchable caused some mixed responses from readers and mixed feelings in me. But after sitting with my feelings for a bit and processing everything about this book, I decided to change my 4-star rating to a 5-star rating.

I really loved this book and went into it knowing that it was a dark bully romance. It won't be for everyone and that's okay. If you don't enjoy reading dark romances, I'd suggest you skip this one. If you're not sure whether it's for you, please read a few reviews and do your research.

What I really liked about Untouchable was the psychological and behavioral components. There is no insta-love here; Carter doesn't even pay Zoey any attention until a particular event occurs, which causes him to take notice.

But when he does, it's dark and intense and right for their relationship.

Carter is deeper than the other characters give him credit for and Zoey sees that. When you discover more about his life, you can see that Zoey provides a positive influence and helps him overcome so much. Their journey is not an easy one, but I think they handled things relatively well considering their backgrounds, ages, and personalities.

All that being said, I think Sam Mariano is a phenomenal writer. She crafted a story for a controversial subgenre that had me cheering for the anti-hero and on the edge of my seat wanting more. I loved this book and couldn't put it down!

It actually took me two read-throughs of this book to be able to somewhat put my thoughts together about this story, and I still don't feel like I fully encompassed my feelings. Maybe after my third read? But review aside, I'll happily re-read Untouchable again and again.

This one is hard for me to rate. At times it was hard for me to read. But after starting and stopping about 11% in I cracked it open again and read. Became addicted. And even understood the connection much to my morals dilemma. This was an interesting read for me. Not for anyone with sexual triggers. But if you’re open minded and can view a different relationship give it a try.
