Finley and Vero do it again. I just love these entertaining and fun thrillers and really enjoyed getting to know the characters even more. I also liked that the plot was different enough from the first one that it didn’t feel repetitive or boring. With my 3rd trimester insomnia, this book was something I could look forward to in the middle of the night.

So far, I’m really enjoying this series. The other two books I’ve read this month have been emotionally heavier reads centering around grief, death and mental health. This was the perfect breath of fresh air after those ones. While this one didn’t have as many accidental uh-oh’s for Finlay and Vero with a series of unfortunate events, I like that the focus shifted.

Instead of one accidental thing leading to another, Vero and Finlay are on the opposite side of the coin in this one. Instead of being the hitman, accidental or not, they’re on a mission to find the one out for Steven, Finlay’s ex-husband. This one did have some plot twist I didn’t see coming and I’m glad the air has been cleared allowing other major characters in on Finlay and Vero’s new mission.

I think the ending of this one was set up nicely for the next book in the series and I’ve already put it on hold at the library.

Still loved it. I don’t know how Finley manages to get herself in these type of situations.

This is book two in this series, and it was a bit wild in terms of all the suspended disbelief it required. It also came with an extra measure of cheesiness. Still, there were plenty of laughs and the story kept me guessing. Although I prefer the first book, I had a lot of fun reading this one, and I'm looking forward to reading the next.
