no one speak to me this book was so phenomenal. i need the next book now. it was so beautiful and twisty and turny i couldn’t put it down. i need my own copy yesterday

This book was okay. The premise is interesting and the imagery was great. However, I didn’t buy the romance. Also for some reason every man loved the main character. I hate a pick me type for girl. This reads very YA - the world building and political intrigue are simple and the main character is very naive. It was still an enjoyable book but I don’t think it’s marketed correctly.

This book was SO GOOD! I cannot wait for the next one and the plot twists 👏 the mystery👏 our MMC👏 I loved reading a charismatic male character for once instead of the dark broody MMC I normally read. I loved that the FMC wasn’t insufferable and she was in a lot of tense positions and reading the war going on in her head, it was all written so good and truly takes the readers for an experience. I also loved that the FMC wasn’t some skilled fighter or had hidden magical powers or any other “leg up” in this world. It is really just her and her wits in this fantasy world through numerous trials and situations. Loved this so much can’t wait for book 2

I would probably if I read this a few months I maybe have given it a 4.25 or a 4 out of 5. However, right now I needed this exact type of book. I stayed up until 1:30am to finish the book!!!

As a review, I'm sooo happy to read a book with actual adult protagonists!!!! Realistic trauma etc. Eugh now I need book 2!!

This one is complicated. I didn’t dislike it but I didn’t really like it either. The characters are interesting but also extremely frustrating, some of the plotting doesn’t really make sense and yet it was compelling enough for me to keep reading (although the ending is one of the most confusing parts).
