Rosie the hen goes for a quick walk around the farm not knowing there is danger lurking right behind her! She leads fox into one danger right after another without even knowing it. Written and illustrated by Pat Hutchins. Published by Macmillan Publishing Co.

(Read with little sister as part of the "1,001 Children's Books To Read")

This was a good little book! I enjoyed how Rosie was oblivious to the destructive fox following her.

The illustrations in this book are amazing. We go on a walk with Rosie through the farm. A fox is following her and keeps having accidents that prevent him from catching Rosie.
This is a great book to read to kids. The illustations make the walk scenic for the reader. It is fun to have the children guess what accident the fox might have next. A great book.

A funny, slapstick story of an inept fox stalking Rosie the hen as she goes for a walk. Folk-art-ish illustrations.

The illustrations are an interesting time capsule of their era (late 1960s), but I'm not a fan of books in which an animal gets hurt, even if that animal is the supposed villain.
