An easy, interesting read.  Laura often seemed to be a passive observer of the events happening around her, but the details she'd captured of prairie life was fascinating - I was particularly struck by the description of Mrs Brewster (Laura feared her but I mostly felt empathy for her apparent misery) and the tragic story of the settler who'd lost nearly everything (including a son) in a vicious storm. The development of Laura's relationship with Almanzo was sweet.
