I love this one so much. The whole family finally seems to be reaping benefits of their hard work and suffering over all the years.
I enjoyed this one way more than LTOTP. The end really got me. “You’ll help her after this, but I’ll help her this time.” Gah! I was happy Laura demanded that her vows not say “obey” even if she at the same time said didn’t want to vote.
This was a satisfying ending, I may just skip the last book.

I just love this book… Everything from the title, to the story, to Garth Williams wonderfully illustrations. Just a wonderful love story and a beautiful story set in America.
This one's a little less interesting to me than the previous handful of books, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Watching Laura and her sisters grow up has this sort of soft, bittersweet quality that's hard to describe. The romance with Almanzo is definitely tame, but it builds well, and naturally. I'm glad the ending of this book wasn't the ending of the series, though, because I'm really looking forward to the next (and last, sad face) one. Maybe it'll be a tidier ending that will make me feel more ready to move on, because this one mainly just made me curious about what Laura will be like when she isn't living with Ma and Pa--not just part of the year, but at all.
