I read this series when I was 12 years old. I loved the entire series, but this was by far my favorite of all the books - I read it several times. I think the romance/courting got me at that young age.

This is one of the better entries in the series, it's more a romance book while the other books are basically Westerns.

This one was never one of my favorites, but it's better than Farmer Boy!
I had forgotten most of this book, but enjoyed rereading it as an adult. Although it is still a children's book, the story isn't about children anymore, so it makes sense that I enjoyed reading this more as an adult than as a child.
