This book was a wonderful book in the series. Although this book was not as interesting as the others I have read, I thought it was truly beautiful. Laura Ingalls Wilder is an amazing role model and author!
There's so much nostalgia connected to these books that I'm not even sure how to properly rate any of them. There's something there that is just so precious.
"enough is as good as a feast"
"least said, soonest mended"
"pretty is as pretty does"

This one was interesting as Laura becomes an independent woman of sorts. She's gone from being dependent on Pa to helping to support her struggling family. The insider's story of her miserable host family gives perspective to the lives of the pioneers. Ma's stoicism is highlighted by the misery of the woman of the house Laura stays in.
L's ambivalence to Almanzo and it's metamorphosis into affection is interesting.

Reread from childhood. A great, stress-free read which is exactly what I needed. This is the most romance heavy of the series. It's all about Laura and Almanzo's relationship.

Weirdly enough, my favorite part about this book is when Laura writes about her outfits and how she makes them. I'm also a big fan of when she talks about her pantry with built in shelves. I am a huge fan of detailed imagery and this is it. This book is so beautiful, even when she is going through it.
Like coming home again. Like catching up with a friend you haven't spoken to in years. This book is full of love, warmth, and happiness.
Follows the story of Laura Ingalls as she begins her career as a school teacher. The book follows Laura as she is away from home for the first time, and learning how to control a classroom full of students. As Laura is growing up, and earning money for herself, she starts a romance with Almanzo Wilder. Laura learns in the novel that she is not a child anymore, and needs to come to terms with growing up.
I really liked this novel. I really enjoy this series, and it was a fun read for me. I enjoy reading books set in this time period, so it was highly enjoyable for me. I always like when books have a serious plot, with romance tied in. This book kept me pleased from beginning to end.
