This was such a joy to read!

The humor and love emanated off the pages. I was so taken by Almanzo's courtship and Laura's journey becoming independent. Years whizzed by in this book though it felt like a blink of an eye. This book is a timeless classic as there are things that we still deal with to this day! (Including the future in-laws trying to swoop in and take charge over a wedding.) Oh goodness, I loved every part of this book. The real question that we're all wondering: Did Laura fall in love with Almanzo because of his horses, or were the horses simply a reason for Laura's gaze to fall on Almanzo? Hmm? The world may never know. Haha

My sister-in-law recommended it when I was engaged to her brother. I guess she didn't know I'd been reading and re-reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books for years. She was right, the book has a simple and sweet example of love.

It’s crazy how these books make me nostalgic and cause me to ponder about my own growth in life. Completely a fan.

Ah. Sigh.

Lovely.

I loved the giggles from my boys as they heard their first "love story". Following this courtship was just lovely. This series progressed perfectly and what an ending with this one. I know there is technically one more small book after this but I did warn the kids that this is the last fully written, published book of Laura's.

To go from hearing about the childhood of the little girl in the big woods of Wisconsin and the little farmer boy of New York, to this slow road that leads the two together. And then the beginning of one road, together.

Bittersweet. I will cherish these moments forever of reading these books with my kids. I will remember the giggles, talks, and tears. I will remember this series with sappy happiness.

Laura is not for women’s rights and doesn’t want to vote.

Another wonderful Little House book. I enjoyed the story of Almazno courting Laura and her adventures as a school teacher.

More comfort reading.
