This book is so much darker and grittier than the first in the series! I loved to get to know Jack and Jill's origin story in this book, but I really loved the atmosphere. The Moors is such an interesting world and it was so gothic and beautifully described! I really loved this one.

Less complex than the first book, but for me a slightly more enjoyable read. It all evens out to a 3.5 for both books.
