Was this book written beautifully? It was. Will I ever read it again? I don‘t think so. My literature prof must be insane citing this as a gay book. There’s nothing queer about it! The old-motherfucker is a pedophile that basically stalks and worships a fourteen year old. The ending was atleast sort of satisfying I guess

Beauty, obsession, passion, and desire. It was excellent
Ummmm. Well. I keep putting off writing this review because I don’t know what to say. The short version is that this book creeped me aaaallll the way out and back again, and I needed to dunk my head in Listerine every twenty minutes or so while reading it. (I persisted because it was so short and I’ve never read any other Mann.) While I’m sure there’s plenty of lit crit out there to explain the themes and references buried in the TOTALLY GROSS story, I have no interest in pursuing them. Thanks but a hearty NO THANKS. Eek.
