This was a thoroughly unique book: geographic time travel and its ramifications. Despite the heightened suspension of belief ask, the book feels entirely coherent with its premise, even with the discussions of causality and the like. The French names were a bit tricky to parse at first in the audiobook form, but the setting was apt. A great plot with room for philosophical thoughts to breathe and an appropriate ending.

This is so unique. I love time travel but it is so hard to get right. This author does a fantastic job. This is in part because time travel is used in a limited capacity which allows the characters particularly odille (fmc) to think about it a lot. Not just the time travel but Odille is so well written. She is feels like a person who contains contradictions. There were times in the second half that I wanted the plot to move along faster but I saw the utility in building up her motivation for her actions. It’s maybe a little predictable but I didn’t mind. This was a great read and just a truly creative book.

This was book was brilliant and rge only thing keeping it from a solid 5 stars is the fact there wasn’t a single quotation mark in this whole book. It was frustrating to keep having to reread passages not for the deeper meaning but just to figure out who was speaking and what was a quote vs an internal thought. Love the book. Hate the choice not to use quotations.
Mind bending in the best way! I love the way the story uses his philosophy background to create a fascinating story.
