This story follows Odile who lives in a world where time works differently. This book had a fun concept and I really enjoyed the book. I loved the way the time travel works and the vibe just gave me The Giver energy for some reason. This is also a short book, less than 300 pages, so I read it fairly quickly. The book showcases how the world works and what rules they follow.
Odile is the MC and I really wished I liked her character. It was hard to connect to her but I did enjoy reading her journey. There are many side characters in this book to keep the story going and I loved following Edme too. The side characters really helped bring this story to life. There is some romance in this book but its a gentle backdrop that’s not overtaking the story because this book is focusing on the dystopian side of things.
The ending was well done, and overall, I really enjoyed this book. I had such an enjoyable time reading it, but I do wish I connected with the MC. I will for sure be reading more from this author because this was a great story.

I could not put this down. Definitely scratched my Ishiguro/Mitchell itch for weirdo fiction. The narrator of the audio version was extremely whispery, though, which was hard to get past.
