This book sneaks up on you. It's a quiet story that rarely looks directly at the questions that it poses. It's a very light touch that leaves a lot of room for interpretation and speculation.
I liked Odile a lot, too. Especially in the second half of the book. Something about the numbness with which she went through each day worked really well in contrast to the setting and the big issues her story rubbed up against.

This was such an intriguing read! The pacing was good for a fairly short read. The concept itself makes the book and so it doesn’t need a lot of fluff. It’s thought provoking and mysterious. I felt that the steady pace was suitable for the plot. I felt the l weight of the decisions each character was having to make. Overall I really liked this one. It didn’t totally pull me in like other stories have and that’s why it’s 4.25 for me but it made my think and question which is a whole different value add for the story.
