Jennifer Wright did a fantastic job of sharing the fascinating story of the life of Madame Restell as well sharing the historical context for her story. Madame Restell was a fascinating woman and I really enjoyed learning about her. However, I do feel like there were more tangents and side stories than there really needed to be. I received an digital audiobook from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

So many things have changed yet are still the same. A woman’s right to choose should not be a question. This book is well researched and well written. Read as an audio and wonderfully narrated.

An extremely well-researched account of an extraordinary woman with an incredibly interesting life all told in a voice that is anything but dry. Thoroughly enjoyed this on audio. I am loving learning more about women in history who shattered expectations and did amazing things. Madame Restell was one of those women. Highly recommend.
