Prowled Darkness is the final book in Carrie Ann Ryan's Dante's Circle series. This book wasn't my favorite, but it was a strong end to the series. The reason it wasn't my favorite was because it wasn't as long or as detailed about the characters falling in love. Eliana and Malik had met and fallen in love, but the reader wasn't privy to that story. We come in after the couple broke up and Eliana was pregnant. I don't mind stories like that normally, but this one bugged me because there weren't any flash backs to them falling in love and I didn't truly feel them fall for one another the second time around. I don't feel this book is up to Carrie Ann Ryan's usual standard, but it was still a good book. I give it 4 stars and do think fans of this series will get the closure they need in this story.

In this final installment of Dante's Circle we get Eliana’s story. Due to a lack of open communication Eliana’s mate and the love of her life leaves her high and dry not knowing she is his true mate and carrying his cub. Now Malik is back and he wants it all. Her love, her forgiveness and their child. Watching Eliana battle her trust issues with regards to Malik was hard. I don’t know that I would have given in as quickly but I wasn’t facing single parenthood either. Eliana is a fantastic character strong in ways she doesn’t even realize. I really enjoyed watching her grow. Prowled Darkness is a wonderful exit to this terrific series.

I loved this story. Malik and Eliana are great characters. We have gotten to know Eliana from the rest of the stories in this series and are more than ready for her happily ever after. This is the last book in the series and it will have helped to have read the other books in it though this story does stand on its own quite a bit. If you haven't read the others, you don't get the full story are Eliana's circle of friends and that doesn't have a huge impact on this story but it plays a role. You don't necessarily have to have read all of them either. If you've read a couple of them then you will be fine. The world and premise for the series is really set up in the first book. If you've read the first one, give the rest of the series a try. The rest of the stories are better.
I loved the way that this story flowed and the interactions with the characters. I was hooked from the beginning, especially having read An Immortal's Song, the one right before this. I had to know what was going to happen between Eliana and Malik. They have quite a few things to work out and aren't given a lot of time to do so. This was a quicker read for me. I didn't want to put it down and had to know what was going to happen next. The sex is explicit and fits the characters and the story. There's action and romance in this story and so should have plenty to hold your attention. I greatly enjoyed this story and am sad to see the series end.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

I was so sad to see this series come to a close, and I feel like there were some loose ends with the Conclave that I would’ve liked tied up. But like the 6th book, this one felt a little rushed.

Whilst I've thoroughly enjoyed this series throughout, I'm gutted I've knocked a star off. Frankly I wanted more. This was the shortest full instalment of the series and after loving this series, I had very high expectations. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to them. I wouldn't let this put you off the series though as I did still really enjoy it! I hope there's follow on series with the children or conclave!

"3 out of 5 stars!! This is the FINAL novel from Ms. Ryan’s Dante's Circle Series. Here we follow Eliana and Malik as they come to terms with their future, find out more about Eliana’s true self, and take on the reins of parenthood while Malik takes on his new role of leader of his pride. However, not everyone is in favor of Malik ruling over them and will stop at nothing to take him down. What will Eliana have to do to keep her new family together forever? Will the sacrifice be worth it?

This novel was very cute! Yet, while I appreciated the updates that happened for all of Eliana’s friends/family at the beginning and end of this novel, I found the first 30% of this novel hard to read through. I found it difficult mostly because, while I liked Eliana and Malik together as a couple..."
