Tato letní romance se odehrává ve dvou časových rovinách. V současnosti žije Persefona Fraserová v Torontu, postupuje v kariérním žebříčku, o přítele nemá nouze a vše se změní, když přijme hovor od neznámého čísla.
V minulosti se vracíme do doby před více než deseti lety, kdy Percy prožívá první lásku a vše s tím spojené až do chvíle, než se všechno pokazí.

Bratři Florekovi, se kterými se Percy seznámí u jezera, se od sebe snad víc lišit nemohou.
Sam je stejně starý jako nová sousedka a už z jejich prvního setkání je jasné, kam tohle bude směřovat. Je milý, pozorný, nesmělý a velice chytrý.
Charlie je o dva roky starší a z pusy vypustí vše, co mu přijde na jazyk. Je to provokatér a lamač dívčích srdcí.
Několikrát jsem si u čtení vzpomněla na Léto, kdy jsem zkrásněla. Percy s rodiči sice o velkých prázdninách nejezdí na pláž, ale na chatu u jezera v kanadském maloměstě Barry's Bay. Carley Fortune tu opravdu prožila dětství a dospívání, do toho místa se zamilovala a ze všech popisů v knize je to znát.
Nedivím se nadšeným recenzím v zahraničí. I já si Každé další léto neskutečně oblíbila a rozhodně nebude chybět v žádném mém doporučení na letní čtení. Plný počet hodnocení dát ale nemůžu kvůli velkému zvratu, který si autorka nechávala až na posledních pár stran. Celou dobu okolo toho jen tak kroužila, aby si s tím čtenář dál lámal hlavu, ale pak to konečně přišlo…

this is easily the fastest i’ve ever finished a book and it deserves that title. the relationships between the characters in this book are so raw and real that as a reader you understand what they are feeling.

This one didn’t hit for me like I was expecting. It might’ve been because of the hectic week I’ve had, but the slow burn wasn’t working, especially when I figured out the big reveal about 200+ pages early.
Percy gets a call that the woman she considered as a second mom had just passed away from cancer. This woman was also the mother of her first love, Sam. The boy she’s left in her past.
The book alternates between present-day Percy prepping for the funeral and returning to the small town that holds her secrets and source of pain, as well as summer-teen Percy who with each flashback chapter is dealing with the awkwardness of growing up, developing relationships, and creating happiness. Both Percys are faced with learning how to communicate their needs and respect the space of others.

this was perfect until the reason the breakup was revealed. it wasn’t just that she cheated, but with his brother?? my god, i’d never trust anyone again. that’s my least favorite trope, but it gets 2.25 for having good writing and a great story outside of that reason. but it just ruined it for me!
