10/10 : I have literally just finished this book, with a huge smile on my face. It seems I have inadvertently only read YA fiction this month, & I highly encourage all of you to do the same! This book was so touching, so heart wrenching, so powerful, with perfect dialogue & description. I just can’t praise it highly enough, I can’t do it justice. I didn’t expect to adore it as much as I did - this is a book I’ll be purchasing to read again & again.

DAZZLING! Truly a joy to read. It made my heart swell with every different emotion and the writing style was magic.
okay wow. this book.
after reading the first few chapters, i was not into it. at all. the writing style just really wasn’t for me, mostly due to the constant and never ending metaphors.
but about halfway in, i literally couldn’t put it down until i finished it. i grew so attached to noah and jude and all i wanted was for them to make up and be happy because they deserved it.
the way everything and everyone was connected in some way was so smart and made me love the book even more.
it would be a 5 star if not for my dislike for it at the beginning.
also, i need a sequel please and thanks.

I liked this book! It started out kind of slow, but then I got more interested as the story went on and the secrets the characters had been keeping started to be revealed. I especially liked all of Noah’s ideas for paintings; I could just envision them in my head, they felt like the kind of art I would really like.
I had high expectations because a lot of people have gushed. The writing was euphoric and unbounded. The issues - identity, art, loyalty - were compelling. I think the reason I didn't Love it was I found it too jam packed. The magical realism of Grandma Sweetwater was fine, but I felt that same suspension of disbelief was necessary to take in all the interconnected plot lines, and their speedy resolution, and for me that was a bit too much.
