There are lots of things to love about this book - the illustrations, the wit, the way it will significantly add to your TBR. But it was a bit too long for me and lacked diversity. Having been published in 2018, I think the author could have done more to showcase diversity or even to highlight the lack of representation. I look forward to reading the second iteration, Diverse Spines. I also would have loved if this had a bit more of an international lens rather than an American focus with some worldwide content.
Overall, I still think this book is beautiful and worth the read, especially for those who love all things books.
