This is one story that really ramps up towrlard the end. Like most fantasy novels, there's a weird middle where some things aren't as needed, maybe 50 pages could be cut. However, when the story details tie together in the end, boy do they ever tie together!

The pieces of the story really take you all over the map. Where we started to where we end up is so night and day.

Thankfully this wil be a series, it is needed as there is set up.

Fun, fluffy read. Kinda tropey, but not in a bad way. My biggest complaints were with the main romantic relationship. There was the miscommunication trope, the "I'm a jerk to protect you" trope, and some other ones. But that being said, I think it was the best execution of the "I'm being a jerk/lying to you/keeping things from you to protect you" trope I've seen. I still don't like the trope itself, but this character kinda had a good reason for it to be honest.

Tracy Wolff is always an enjoyable read, it’s light and fluffy and overall a fun experience. 3.5 stars because I enjoyed it, I might have given it 3 if it weren’t refreshing that her story ideas feel like her passion project and not like she’s trying to cater to a specific audience.

I didn’t want this to end. It was so good. And pay attention to the chapter names they’re so clever and fun. Possibly one of my favorite main female characters.

Tracy Wolff's books are a non-guilty guilty pleasure. I love getting sucked into her worlds, even while thinking about how hilariously "how do you do fellow kids" they are (on occasion).
