Full disclosure, I didn’t expect this book to be a true YA romance, but with that being said it was great! The one thing that I truly disliked about this book is that there were so many chapters. A lot of the times 3-4 chapters could have been combined since they were still in the same scene and the book never changed points of view. The plot line was engaging and felt like a pallet cleanser. Personally I would have never picked Kumquat as a pet name however I find that hilarious. For the mothers out there: this book is a perfect Xaden Riorson that’s age appropriate for teens. He’s dark, mysterious, and plays with shadows/nightmares. I’d listen to the next book if it was available.

I am a sucker for Tracy Wolff’s characters, writing and stories! They truly make me giggle, get me on the edge of my seat and sob. Absolutely loved this one and can’t wait for book 2 in the spin off series

If you told me a middle schooler who just had their first kiss wrote this i’d believe you. The chapter titles alone made me want to DNF.

Holy Moly. Sweet Nightmare started out a little slow. There was quite a bit of world building that I later learned was much needed for the end of the book
