Definitely an interesting story, very cool characters with a lot of history. I’m not the biggest fan of the amount of pop culture references for no real reason to be honest, but it wasn’t so bad that I felt like I couldn’t keep reading it. I think two specific things stunted this one for me: the abrupt and borderline unceremonious reveals of MAJORLY HUGE plot points to where they almost don’t even register as you’re reading; and the repetition of scenes. 90% of this book was Clementine walking around in the rain, never getting where she’s trying to go, random violence and monster attacks, do it all again. It felt like there was not plot or point to anything until the last 25% of the book. I’m curious enough to keep reading the series as it comes out, I just hope we dig a little deeper into things and actually get some substance out of the story.
