Interesting ideas... In truth, I haven't done the exercises. Will see if this knocks anything loose.

a decent guidebook for all creatives, regardless of medium. there were a handful of helpful ideas/strategies to take away from this book: identifying your creative dna, building a preparation routine, etc.

Tharp writes with a sense self-assurance that does not leave her audience room for personal growth.

Textbook like explanations on the subject of ‘how creativity works’

It’s more like her autobiography but the stories and examples which she has included in this book are great. Although the book was related to dance but it was still inspiring for any one. This book is recommended for anyone who considers themselves as creative.

Any book about creativity will be subjective as reading a book by an already established artist on their process can reek of "well of course that works for you, you're already a famous established artist!" but there are some gems of wisdom in here and some turds of turpentine.  Pick and choose I'd recommend speed reading.

No mention of Spider Man Turn off the Dark tho... shame.

I found this book useful. A lot of the dance references were new to me, but some of her strategies, insights, and ideas were very helpful--especially spine.

I was expecting more from this book. I am not a creative person, but was hoping to understand those that are creative a bit more. This wasn't the intention of the book. It has some good and exercises, which I may incorporate into my own life to become more creative.

I enjoyed this book, but it did take me some time to get through. Some parts were great and had a lot of nice points and quotes while others were boring and could have probably been left out. Not as good as I was hoping for.
