Groundhog day for a busy mom.  Somehow managed to not be boring, although there were a few times I was shouting at the main character for missing something and taking a few extra chapters to get there than I'd like.  The ending was so satisfying even if it did make me shed a few tears.

Sweet and readable “groundhog day” story. Also, the main character’s name was Emma Jacobs! Spooky!!

One Day meets Groundhog Day...

This is an accurate description of Maybe Next Time by Cesca Major.

Emma and Dan are each other's person but in many ways there are complete opposites too! Rather sweetly, Dan loves to celebrate their Dateversary with a letter, Emma seems to have a reason for not writing one, or doing one in such a rush that it is insincere. And then Dan dies in a tragic car accident, again and again and again...Can Emma do anything differently to stop the man she loves from dying?

The story is an interesting twist on Groundhog Day, however, it was a little repetitive, which is a part of the plot.

I owned a copy of this book and listened to it on cloudLibrary. I read this on the 52 Book Club 2024 November mini challenge for the prompt, set in 2000-2010.

If there's a book about time loops, one thing is for certain, I'm going to read it.😄 Maybe Next Time had a compelling concept... but it just didn't deliver and was pretty slow and uninteresting too much of the time.😔

The story is about a couple with two kids going through the monotony of everyday life.. two passing ships, most of the time. When Dan dies in a tragic accident, Emma is overwhelmingly devestated. But.. when she awakes the next morning, Dan is in bed beside her, unbelievably alive. So, starts the loop. No matter how many ways Emma tries to save Dan, he dies anyway, the same time, every night. Every day is on repeat thereafter.

Nothing really thrilling happens, and I was pretty bored😴 during big chunks of the book. Overall, it's not a bad book. There's just waaayyy better books about time loops to be read.🤷‍♀️
