BAM this book has changed me. My life has been split into two: Before I read The Kite Runner and After I read The Kite Runner. I think the last time I was this affected from a story was after I watched Grave of the Fireflies - and that made me cry for days. This book broke my heart over and over and over. But I love how, unlike Grave of the Fireflies, there was this ray of hope. No matter how much life just hammers the world with tragedy, terror and loss, humans still have the propensity to hope. Aren't we just bonkers?!?!?

Anyway, please read this book. It is a wonder filled with thought and honesty. I listened to the audiobook read by Khaled Hosseini himself and there's nothing like crying while washing the dishes or walking to uni.
