Did such a good job of bringing everything together, rounding off the world-building by explaining why the world was what it was. I thought it was the perfect ending for Essun
to choose for Nassun to live whatever she decided and for Nassun to have the faith that she was trying to do the right thing, despite their relationship never being fixed

Such a great series about exploiting the earth and exploiting and oppressing eachother and how neither are sustainable and will just make everything worse

I enjoyed the book in general, but it wasn't as good as the first volume. Not even close. I didn't like Nassun and her POV. I was a bit annoyed by her - but I liked the other POVs. Also, I don't know what to make of the ending. It was ... a thing. Oh, I don't know. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Anyway, it didn't seem to win me over that much. But one thing has thankfully remained the same throughout the series - the very specific storytelling, which I really love. The writing style is a bit complicated (you read a bit slower), but I love that too. I already learned to love the protagonist in volume 1 and she didn't disappoint me either. But as a series finale, the book was unfortunately not as satisfying as I thought it would be and for me it's also the weakest book in the whole series.
