Way better than the first book. The FMC was way more intriguing and the MMC was just better in all aspects.

Edit: Why the fuck is Tyson the best out of all these mfs. The bar is in HELL.

I wasn't expecting much given it's dark romance and probably will have gratuitous smut and other usual dark forbidden acts. It did have 70% smut, 10% plot (that were kind of messy but it got me curious enough to finish the book), and 20% on other stuff (violent scenes I feel were not really that essential to the whole story, some romance here and there, etc.).

Still, for a dark romance it was entertaining and revenge x arranged marriage concepts are exciting to me (well, it was more of a forced marriage to be honest). But, readers have to really check the TW because some scenes (smutty ones, the violent acts, other triggering scenes) I ended up just scrolling through and I didn't feel they were compelling enough for me to stay and read word per word. The plot just felt ridiculous at times especially when the villains' plans unfolded. The motive for the revenge marriage wasn't that strong enough reason to make the get-back-at-you satisfying but it held a significant role to messing up the villains' plans.

Tyson, if you look past the dark and underground acts he did, has magnetism to him that made my reading bearable somewhat. Kind of a rebel actually in this sordid secret society universe - will not follow the rules. No reaction nor feelings for the FMC, Lake, but there was one chapter I felt bad for her feelings of being insignificant. She got more confident but I can't say this part was explored nor threshed out. Character development wasn't the focus of the book.

I can't say it's super bad nor good but I think this is the book I'd like the most out of the LORDS series.

So all three Lord books are the same. Justified rape, kidnapping, torture, forced pregnancies and shitty families.

Seems to me I have read this story of Lake and Tyson before…but not all of it was familiar, so??   A good story with plenty of secrets to keep you guessing.

I really just read it cause I wanted to finish the set. Glad we learn what happens to Ty 🥹

My god, the third act was almost too much for me. It started feeling like a telenovela. Lake’s family was trash!!! I don’t know if I will continue the series. The Spade brother’s did not peak my interest enough.

The spice was spicing 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Content Warnings [Straight from the front of the book by the author]: Dub/non-con, CNC, erotic asphyxiation—breath play, anal, punishment, forced enema, shock treatment, bondage, praise kink, degradation, virgin h, orgasm denial, nipple banding, wax play, forced orgasm, painslut, branding, graphic murder, rape

So I've realized I'm not a degradation girly 😅 Aside from that I found this story really fascinating and I was excited to learn more and more about the worlds of Lords and Ladies. Wish I'd known there were already books in this universe so I could have read in chronological order but what can you do?
