Setting up a new story arc. Highlight was Lord Kudo's intimate confession and a tender moment for him and Miyo. A new character is intoduced with the capacity to be a rival love interest ... maybe? The magic / supernatural storyline is kinda weak at this point. It's a double slow burn and slow plot.

I am itching to find out what happens in the last book!! What cliffhanger to leave us in. I like how Kudo fights for Miyo and how Miyo has gained the strength and confidence to fight for what she wants. They both still have a lot of growing to do, as Miyo still has a lot of trauma she needs to deal with. I do want more on what is up with the emperor and why we are getting information of the supernatural beings popping up again.
