It was an average read, nothing special but not horrible. I really don’t know why the soulmate thing was included at all, it really could have just been a rivals to lovers and it would have worked. I think the soulmates thing made it cringey, if I’m being honest.
I’m also surprised that this book has such a high diversity rating. I think the only BIPOC character on this book is Remi and other than that it’s a bunch of white European women. But I guess diversity can mean a lot of things to people.
Also, what’s with the characterization that this book is magical realism? It clearly is not, go read Anna-Mari McLemore’s books for some high quality magical realism.

This is my first magical realism soulmate concept book. It was interesting. I’m always up for a tennis backdrop. The book was entertaining if somewhat slow at times.
