This book begins following Callum as he adjusts to life alone after the death of his sickly mother. Soon, he rescues a wounded fox sparrow and attempts to nurse it back to health. That is, until the sparrow is all at once replaced by a winged man with pale skin and black eyes.

This book had some really sweet moments between the two MCs. Callum's loneliness and fear of losing Aurear made a lot of sense given the context of his earlier life experiences. It did kind of fall into the "born sexy yesterday" trope, so I would recommend you avoid this book if that isn't your cup of tea. This book is also very explicit, so if you're looking for a low stream read, this is not it.

I personally enjoyed it quite a bit and would recommend giving it a read!.

Fue un libro ligero y entretenido, tengo pocas cosas más que decir. Quizá su mayor debilidad sea que pudo sacarle provecho a ciertas y en realidad pasa muy rápido de ellas en lugar de desarrollarlas.

⁂ Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC.

Well.. this was different. I mostly wanted to try this because of the gorgeous cover.
It didn’t go as expected.

☙ ⏤⏤⏤⏤ ❧

Short Synopsis:
Callum is a lonely guy who lives in the woods by himself.
After years of taking care of his sick mother, she dies and leaves Callum behind.
With no one else around, his life becomes empty and meaningless.
One day, Callum finds a hurt Fox Sparrow and takes it home to take care of it, only for the bird to turn into a man. A man with wings that is, who’s really still a bird..

My opinion:
This story didn’t really work out for me. At first I expected this to maybe be a shifter romance? But it isn’t. The man is actually a bird. Because of that, he doesn’t understand how to ‘be human’, leaving Callum to have to explain the simplest of things, which makes his character feel quite child-like in my opinion. Next to that, we’re reminded multiple times that ‘he really is a bird’. That combined with some very very explicit spicy scenes.. I don’t know. It was a bit uncomfortable to me.

came for the cover. It was pretty. The story was pretty short and i finish it in one sitting. Some scene were too graphic for me. Guess it was not for me.

I’m a fan. I love the mysterious ending and the life they lived. Emotional from the beginning was not something I expected.
A quick read and a whole journey experienced.

⭐️⭐️ 2.5 stars! Thank you to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the book! I am voluntarily leaving a review.

The cover of this book caught my attention before I even read the description—it's gorgeous and perfectly captures the heartwarming dynamic between the two main characters, Callum and Aurear.

This is a great book if you're in a reading slump and in need of a quick, fun, and easy read to get back into the groove of things. With Callum grieving the death of his mother at the beginning of the story and then finding a new purpose in life after discovering the injured snow sparrow that later becomes Aurear, the story takes emotional twists and turns that gradually become heavier near the end of the story.

The emotional parts were a little more intense than I expected (as well as the spicy scenes), and I found myself feeling a bit confused with the story progressing at a fast rate. I'd say this is personal preference though—as someone who adores slow burn and the nitty-gritty details, I felt frustrated with some of the inconsistencies and loopholes in plot. Despite this, it left me feeling curious and invested—if the book elaborated on various details (such as the backstories of the characters), I'd definitely read it all over again! The little bonus scene at the end of the book was really cute too! Overall, a nice and cozy MLM fantasy novella.

Thank you to Netgalley for the eArc!

I DEVOURED this book. Was I in a room with other people as I read it? Yes. Do I regret reading the spicy scenes with people? Never.

I can definitely see how this book is not for everyone. However, I love absolute trash and this was the exact type of thing I LIVE for. So if you spend time browsing on Ao3, you'll probably enjoy this.

Our MC Callum has been left alone for quite some time after the passing of his mother until one day he stumbles upon an injured fox sparrow who turns into a human. Adorable fluff ensues, with some hurt and angst, but it's ok because we get our HEA. Also. There was one bed. Iykyk.

Aurear can the the type of character that could turn some people off from this book. He is a bird and doesn't know much about being human, which causes him to be naive and blunt, but this means our boy Callum can teach him things and it's super cute and adorable.

This is a short story and easy to get through in one go. So if you are looking for some sweet gay romance with some spice to read on the beach, I highly recommend this one.

The cover of this book is beautiful. It tells the story of Callum, who's mom recently died. He meets a Fox Sparrow Hybrid named Aurear and builds a romantic and sexual relationship with him. It's hard to visualize what Aurear would've looked like in human form. The story itself is decent but the sex scenes are mediocre at best. There were times during foreplay that consented should've been explicit established, but wasn't. You can find better and similar stories to this on AO3 or Wattpad. Unfortunately, this book wan't for me but if you're just looking for a novella with gay romance and smut that isn't that deep, then you'll probably like this.

Wow! This book was an emotional ride! I honestly went in, picking it as romance read because the cover art is so gorgeous! But HOLY!!! Did it rip my heart out! It was so beautifully written! I did find the first couple of chapters difficult to get into, but after that... yeah!! This was a beautiful love story! For both characters! Gosh, just how alone and isolated each of them had been and then to find each other and trust in the idea to fall in love.. It pulled on my heartstrings !! The end though... had tears in my eyes! Such a beautiful love story!!
