Love love love the vibe and the concept, gorgeous writing and themes. I just didn't quite connect with it emotionally as much as i would have liked.

I think I read this at the perfect time moment in my life. I had no expectations going into it but felt deeply affected by its exploration of grief and the desperation that comes from it. I found myself unexpectedly tearing up after reading the last page.

I don’t know. Who wouldn’t want more time with a lost loved one at any cost?

The themes explored are dark and sad but Monstrilio was such a joy to read. Highly recommend.

I like saying, It’s fine. It’s a lie that seems smaller.

Santiago once saw a werewolf on TV that scared him. Hairy. Eyes red. Long crooked arms and legs. Lots of snarling. Santiago howled at the moon to fool the werewolves into thinking he was one of them. Werewolves don’t
hurt their own kind, he believed.

Tender and heartbreaking queer folk horror is in the building! The final POV switch was really a coup de grâce. In this household, we love Monstrilio.
