The universe aligned in a very specific way for me to read this book. I'm filing it away under "reasons why I know that everything happens for a reason". Monstrilio captivated me from start to finish. I would have finished it in one day had I not been pacing myself in order to savor it for as long as I could.

This book was so good, but in the way that something that is horror was wound into people's lives in such a way that it seemed normal and mundane. I liked the expression of grief, the queer rep, and how even loving something so deeply doesn't stop it from being monstrous.
