This book was soooooo cute! I loved watching Annie & Will's relationship unfold. I thought Annie was the perfect quirky character & Will was such a bad ass but soft for her. The character growth in this book is top tier & I loved watching the tragedies of the two characters being fought against so they could love each other. I listened to the audio & was not immediately thrilled with the narrators but they definitely grew on me!

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [4/5]
Sweet 🌶️🌶️ ½ [2.5/5]

📌 You’ll dig this if you like
» He falls first
» Good girl/ bad boy
» Reformed rake
» Virgin wallflower
» Dating coach
» Touch her and 💀

Annie desperately needs some help if she’s ever going to date and find love. Her dates always tank spectacularly. Will hesitates because he recognises the danger of getting close to her, but jealousy prompts him to accept because he can’t stand the thought of anyone else being with her.

Annie thinks he’ll be perfect because there’s no way they could be together. Will would never want to be with a girl like her, right?

I loved this story but there were a few instances that left me unsatisfied. I hoped for a better tie-in for the pics and the closed-door was disappointing after some very steamy lead up. Despite these, I couldn’t put it down and still recommend it.

📌 What stood out
» Mabel is the found-family auntie we all need. She’s a world-class meddler but she’s exactly what Will and Annie need individually at exactly the right moment.

» Will brings out Annie’s sass; she can banter and tease with Will in a way that is unprecedented for her.

» Annie thinks she and her sisters have nothing in common and it’s a heartwarming surprise to see how they bond at Amelia’s bachelorette party.

📌 Moments
» Will teaches Annie the art of seduction by touching only her hands in his Golden Girl room. 🌶️

» Will hears Annie is sick and goes full Florence Nightingale to care for her. 🤒❤️

» Annie returns the favour when he needs it. ❤️

Honourable mention for the dedication:
“This one is for the softies. The tenderhearted sweeties. The introverts who are afraid to shine.” ❤️

🚫 Contains abusive family dynamic, alcoholism, adult responsibilities on a child, anxiety rep. Please check warnings.

This was adorable. Such a good modern romance where the love interests are both so respectful towards one another and there aren't any miscommunications.

My favorite by Sarah Adams so far! I loved Annie and as a soft, introverted social anxiety girlie myself, I totally related to her struggles. Will made my heart melt for so many reasons, and I loved watching how he slowly but surely let himself fall for Annie. The growth both characters went through was so heartfelt and compelling, and i loved reading every second of it.

What a lovely book✨ I read when in Rome earlier this year and the sequel did not disappoint. It's all kinds of sweet, funny and did I say sweet? The characters are flawed to a point and I love them; all of them had sweetness in their bones. Some of the older generation's mindset is reflected here (how they easily judge interesting people like Will who is ripped and inked) I love the chemistry between Annie and Will, they were so fun. I loved all the secondhand embarrassment moments.😂 Overall, a fun read and a potential reread in the future. Thank you, Sarah, ❤️
