I'm guessing most readers of this book are divided into two groups: one that can get past the stalking and enjoy it as a guilty pleasure, and one group that cannot. I'm in the 2nd group. I just could not get past the creepy stalking. Eeeugh.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author duo who probably need an introduction for context (or disclaimer depending on your POV). Per their website the authors:

“specialize in insta-love, over-the-top, sweet, and cheesy love stories that don’t take all year to read.

This book kind of fits this description to the T. This basically dealt with a billionaire stalker who is obsessed after meeting with our vanilla heroine (think 50 Shades of Grey but better written). This book is thankfully much more aware of the problematic elements of the trope and kind of leans into the craziness of the premise.

The hero is a crazy stalker and knows it; I started hating him because he was overboard and controlling. But our heroine pushed back and called him out on his behaviour which I liked.
Around 40% of the book, I think my brain gave up and just decided to go with the crazy. The authors provided enough explanation which made me understand the hero. Would this behavior be acceptable in real life - absolutely not - but the book is so OTT that it becomes this crazy fantasy. If our hero grew fangs and decided our heroine was his “true mate” the plot would have made as much sense.

Going with three stars for the sheer bonkers addictiveness of this. I am going to read by this author duo as this is perfect for a quick read which forces my brain to silence.

as much as i would love to love alexa riley, especially because some of her book premises are my cup of tea, i'm not a fan of her writing style.

Don't let the negative reviews influence you.

I have been a huge fan of Alexa Riley for quite some time. I gobble up her books as quick as she can release them. I have been hesitant to read this series due to all the negative reviews. I expected the hero to be some type of deranged psychopath killer who locks the heroine in the basement blindfolded 24 hours A-day. Instead what I found was a very sweet love story. The hero is obsessed with the heroin and hes very possessive of her but only because he loves her and his father who has threatened to take away everything the hero loves away. After his father had been accused of killing several women... including his second wife, human trafficking and gun running you would be possessive as well. I won't give away any spoilers but I will say that yes the heroine finds out all that the hero has done to pave the road to her finding him, including having a secret security detail pose as her best friend which by the way I figured out way before it was revealed… patting myself on the back I'm so proud lol.

If you are an Alexa Riley fan or even trying to decide if this book is for you please please please just give it a try with an open mind. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to read book number two. :)

I was so excited for this book! A FULL LENGTH ALEXA RILEY!! Hell yes!! When I got it, I was jumping up and down and dived right in. It did not disappoint in anyway.

Okay so maybe in the beginning, I was a little uncomfortable with Oz. Just a little bit of a creepy vibe. However, of course I grew to love him. The authors' writing definitely turned my view around quickly.

Mallory is adorable. She is sensitive and a little naive, but also feisty and fun. I loved reading about her.

The chemistry between Oz and Mallory is not only hot hot hot!!, it is sweet and lasting. You can tell from the beginning that they were meant to be together, even if the methods to get there were not always the best.

Even though I love their short stories, I adored this story and I definitely think that Alexa Riley should be writing some more full length novels... hint hint.. Paige.. cough. :)

I was worried when I heard Alexa Riley was tackling a full length novel, I'll admit it. They're my go to author for a quick instant love filthy story. I was worried about if that would translate to a full length novel or if some of the magic might be missing. Let me assure you, there's nothing missing! There's just more. More character development, more detail, more characters for you to obsess over (I need Ryan and Paige ASAP Alexa!). This was a definite must read!

OK first, Alexa Riley. Next, a full-length novel. What more could you ask for? I know, for it to be just as good if not way better than her shorts. Well, let me tell you it is that and so much more.

Mallory is the orphan whose lift is suddenly on the bright path to everything she could have ever dreamed of. She got the full ride scholarship to the college of her dreams, the internship for the job she could only imagine having, and the best friend through all of it. Is it too good to be true? Sure, does sound like it!

Miles has been planning his future since the day he saw her at a math competition when he was still in college. He saw what he wanted and had the means to make it happen. Will he get the prize in the end? Only time will tell.

In classic AR fashion, with a well told fairytale like setting, Mallory and Miles have a time getting what they both dream of. I finished this book in one day… over 100K words, but I could not stop reading, it was THAT good. Cannot wait for the next book to come out… This is one great series!

i basically skipped from chapter five to chapter 30 then proceeded to read to the end. Then i went back to like chapter 25 and read to chapter 30.
description

My crazy reading habits aside this was basically the same formula as any other Alexa Riley novel except the characters had more back story i guess or did they?? No, nope i don't think the back story was all that.
Ok i'm going with it was basically like any other Alexa Riley novel except there were more scenes the characters had to act out. So the bulk of the book wasn't just: stalk the chick, meet the chic, fall into bed, fall in lust love, epilogue- 9months later, 2 years later, 5 years later, 20 years later. In this book you have all that plus this: characters going to work (shocking i know) characters going to bars too and (drum roll please) characters interacting with other people (double shocker).

All in all It was a cute book, it's not going to blow your brains out or anything like that but i don't think you're going to end up yawning. and i really liked the female lead, Mallory, cos she was a working girl.
