thank GOD i finished. i picked this book up because it resembled the x-files gillian anderson/david duchovny drama of the 90s and i love the x-files but i did not love this book. the characters are sooo unlikeable. i wasnt rooting for them because i just found them so boring. there was so much happening in this book. a shit ton of side characters and extras that it just didn't meld correctly. to be fair, i rarely read romance in the first place, but the miscommunication in this was unbearable. i think it's a bad trope in the first place but make it the ENTIRE STORYLINE and i'm just mad. i ranted to my manager and coworkers about this book. patting myself on the back for not DNFing it.
