DNFing this pre-50% because I just can not with this main character. Shayne isn't that great either but pretending the things he did are at all equivelent to her "revenge" is insanity, especially when their original conflict was essentially her fault. I honestly just think Lilah is the most unbearable person and I know with how strongly I dislike her any devlopment of romance will feel forced and rushed because if I was Shayne I wouldn't even give her the time of day, job or not.
Not many feelings other than that. Lilah's mental health issues would be an interesting aspect to her character if she wasn't also The Worst. The commentary on misogyny in the film/celebrity indusry fell a little flat for me - kind of just stating its there with no real nuance or interesting perspective on it. Especially since at times it felt like that's what Lilah was using to justify her cruel behaviour.
I hate being so negative about a book, but in a story where everything hinges on your support of the main couple and their relationship, having one of them be that unlikeable completely ruins it (at least for me)

I liked this! A bit less than How to Fake it in Hollywood, but I’m looking forward to Ava Wilder’s next book.
